Markets and operating environments

UTS is based in New York and works extensively throughout NYC, where dense schedules, shared buildings, and complex labor environments are the norm. We also regularly support venues in regional and secondary markets nationwide, where resources may be limited and continuity is especially critical. Our experience spans both high-intensity urban operations and smaller venues with lean or non-existent technical staffs, where UTS is relied upon to provide inspections, maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and practical training for non-technical personnel such as facilities staff, educators, and work-study employees.

Union and non-union environments

UTS works cooperatively and efficiently in both union and non-union facilities. Our team has direct experience coordinating with union crews, including IATSE, IBEW, Ironworkers, and International Union of Operating Engineers, as well as supporting organizations with non-union and hybrid labor models. We adapt to each facility’s conditions and observe established labor practices, allowing us to integrate smoothly into existing workflows.
